Since starting his own practice, Hunter has represented clients in over 100 criminal cases in Maine's superior and district courts.  He also appealed eight cases up to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court within the past year alone.  Some of his most recent successes include suppressing a confession in a multiple count sex offense case, and a not guilty verdict in a domestic assault and terrorizing trial.

Hunter's practice is devoted to defending the rights of individuals accused of a crime or injured by civil rights violations.  Hunter is a member of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Maine Trial Lawyers Association, and graduate of the University of Maine and Quinnipiac University School of Law.   Hunter represents clients in drug trafficking, theft, burglary, assault, sex offenses and other felony and misdemeanor cases in Maine's superior and district courts.  His practice is also interested in handling civil rights cases throughout the State of Maine, in the areas of police misconduct, discrimination, and violations of constitutional rights.

Before starting his own practice in Maine, Hunter wrote briefs for some of Connecticut's top criminal and civil rights lawyers.  Hunter also worked as an advocate and lawyer for the Disability Rights Center of Maine. His legal writing has been published in The Journal of Legal Medicine and he has also received scholarly recognition for essays on Constitutional law and the death penalty.

As a law student, Hunter was an editor of the Quinnipiac Law Review, and member of the Moot Court Honor Society, where he won best brief honors at the National Moot Court Health Law Competition. Hunter received the Academic Achievement Award for his work in Advance Trial Practice. Upon graduation, the Law School recognized Hunter's academic career with the Outstanding Legal Scholarship Award.
